Day01 Arrive in Chengdu Arrive in Chengdu, capital of province Sichuan, the home town of Panda. Picked up by the local guide at airport and transferred to hotel. 1N in 4*Minshan Lhasa Hotel Day02 Chengdu – Kangding BLD Leave in the morning for Kangding. En route at Yaan, the famous rainy city, we will visit the Giant Panda Breeding Centre and Reserch Institute, the home to many giant pandas moved from Wolong Preserve after the 2008 May Eearthquake hit. In addition, we will make a short visit to the ancient town Shangli in an extremely serene breitling replica and beautiful surroundings. In the mid afternoon we will drive cross the Tunnel of Erlang Mountain, the mountain was traditionally the natural limits of Han Chinese villages and the Tibetan communities. Arrive in Kangding, the capital of Ganzi Zang (Tibetan) Autonomous Prefecture and the important juncture of Tibetan and Han People in history. 1N at 3*Lamuzelinka Hotel Day03 Kangding – Laoyulin – Gesar Meadow, trekking begins BLD Drive to Laoyulin and meet with trek crew. After a simple picnic lunch we start the trekking. Trek along the little brook in the valley for approx. 2 and 1/2 hrs until reach our campsite at Gesar Meadow (2700m). Free at own leisure during the rest of the day. Camping Day04 Trekking to Jiazela BLD Trek to Jiazela camp (3200m) today. We will pass by Jiazela pass which is 4960m above sea level. During the attempt, we can see clearly a beautiful glacier tongue zigzaging deeply into the green forests. After a 7hrs trek for approx. 15km in distance we finally reach our camp on a open grassland – the Jiazela meadow. CAMPING Day05 Trekking to Yulongxi BLD Trek begins at 9 o’clock in the morning. The trek today is getting earlier after the first two days warm up and acclimatization. We will walk through nomad’s big camps and watch out carefully their big dogs sitting by these black yak-hair made tents. Today’s trek is 5hrs for 10km. Campsite at Yulongxi near a stream at 3300m altitude. CAMPING Day06 Trekking to Moxigou BLD 12km and 5.5 hrs trekking today. Going up hill (4670 m) again after breakfast. The landscape is amazing on our way up which keeping us a very good mood. Trekking down, we can feel the altitude decrease very quickly. Reach our camp and free time at own leisure in the tents. CAMPING at Moxigou (2900m) Day07 Trekking to Gongga Monastery BLD A highlight of the trek today. We will trek to Gongga Monastery, the nearest camp to the main peak of Mt.Gongga. After a 5hrs trek for a 10km mileage and cross a bush forest covered by thick fallen leaves and flower petals, we reach our camp by the monastery. Leisure photo tour around the camp. Camping Campsite: 3700m Day08 Trekking to Zimei Village BLD Walk up in the early morning to view the splendid sunrise and mists embraced the waist of Mount Gongga. In the afternoon, we start a easy trek for 5km and cross a cantilever bridge to Zimei, a small Tibetan village in the heart land of Gongga Mountain. Camping at 3100m Day09 Trekking to Shangmu Ju village, drive to Xinduqiao BLD Leave Zimei in the morning and trek all the way up to Zimei Pass (4764 m), where we can get the best and the last view to Mt. Gongga in close enough distance. Bid our farewell to the mountain King of Sichuan Province and trek to Shangmu Ju village. From here we will say goodbye to our helpful Tibetan boys of crew and get pick-up to Xinduqiao. The first night at a hotel with hot shower and private bath since our trekking. 1N at simple hotel in Xinduqiao Day10 Xinduqiao – Kangding – Chengdu BLD Check out and leave in the morning for Chengdu. Have lunch in Kangding and do some shopping at its free bazar if desired. In the mid afternoon we arrive in Chengdu and check-in hotel.
